Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

Last year was a wonderful year at Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat, and we are proud of all that our students, staff, families, and community accomplished together. As we begin a new year, we are ready to build on that success and go bigger, better, and bolder than ever before.

Our students will have exciting new opportunities to learn, explore, and grow. From the grand reopening of our student store and the expansion of our student game room to the creation of our new STEM Lab, we are continuing to make our school a place where students can discover new interests, develop new skills, and take pride in their learning.

We are also excited to bring “The Seahawk Way” to life through a renewed emphasis on Yup’ik values and a stronger connection to our community and culture. Our goal is not only to help our students succeed academically, but also to ensure they feel a deep sense of belonging, identity, responsibility, and pride in who they are and where they come from.

This year, we are pleased to welcome Rogelio Villa, our new Assistant Site Administrator; Edward Cheng, Secondary Math; and Paul Paul, 5th/6th Grade, to our Quinhagak family. We also congratulate Elena Brown as she begins her new role as a certified elementary teacher. We are fortunate to add their talents and energy to our incredible returning staff. Together, I believe we can reach new heights for our students and our school.

Most importantly, Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat belongs to all of us. Strong schools are built through strong relationships among students, families, staff, and the community. I invite you to be part of what we are building this year.
